01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Along the street in Kanda Konyacho, Cafe Respiro serves a daily one-plate meal, the Today's Meal & Deli Set, for lunch. By focusing the midday offering on a single daily option 1, the café keeps ordering effortless during busy lunch hours, earning praise for its smooth, pleasant service pace. Each plate comes generously layered with seasonal vegetable side dishes, a warm soup, and, depending on the day, freshly made bread or bagels, offering gentle flavours that settle comfortably.

A welcoming touch is the small cup of coffee and bite-sized cookie served at the end of the meal. The coffee uses aged beans from Cocktail-Do, a roaster founded in 1949, ground and pulled from an espresso machine for each order. Pairing this mellow, rounded cup with homemade cookies in flavours such as plain, pistachio, or black sesame, or with a daily muffin baked with fruit, rounds out the afternoon break nicely.

Inside, a compact counter and a small cluster of tables give the café a relaxed air that welcomes solo diners without fuss. The beverage lineup also offers plenty of variety to match your mood, from spiced organic hojicha honey lattes to iced drinks that can be topped with homemade vanilla ice cream.
